In Thyme
Ancient Greeks considered Thyme as a symbol of courage and we think that this is a very helpful quality for today's leaders and managers who face the challenges and pressures of providing high quality services with diminishing budgets.
Our expertise is in Organisational and People Development and our purpose is to provide a valuable learning experience for everyone we work with.
We do this through: Facilitation Coaching Mentoring Expert advice and guidance Development, Training, Assessment and Evaluation
We provide expert advice and guidance to organisations wishing to set up in house coaching and mentoring services.
We design, deliver and evaluate innovative leadership development programmes for teams and also open programmes for specific sectors.
As practising executive coaches & action learning set facilitators working across a range of organisations in the public, voluntary and private sectors we offer support and expert guidance to assist in the transfer of knowledge to the workplace.
Established in 2003 as a specialist learning, training and development consultancy, we work in partnership with our clients to create learning experiences that suit their needs. Our clients include individuals, teams & groups, who come together to share and learn. Each programme or learning event is specially designed and we draw on leading edge research and published management and leadership standards in order that clients may work towards accreditation if they so desire.
We design, develop and deliver creative, enjoyable and valuable leadership and management development programmes drawing on real life & work experiences that challenge, stretch and support individual and group learning.
Leadership programmes include a focus on vision, purpose, business & personal objectives, planning and evaluation as all leaders and organisations need to be clear of where they are going, the route they are following and how they are performing. We encourage and enable participants to develop their roles as leaders and managers and take the lead in identifying the workforce requirements to achieve the purpose of the organisation, including skill mix and talent management.
The directors and associates are highly experienced practitioners who also take their own personal development very seriously in order that In Thyme can provide a high quality service to our clients. We draw on our practical skills and knowledge of working as senior managers in a variety of large and complex organisations along with our understanding of the culture and diverse issues and complexity facing business and public sector organisations in Scotland and the UK, when working with clients.
When working with individuals to improve performance, we use GROW (goals, reality, opportunity, way forward) as our business coaching model along with a person centred and creative approach to open up deeper understanding and create a step by step action plan to achieve the desired standard. Methods are included and help provided to the individual to experiment with developing new skills and experiment with alternative behaviours in a safe environment before applying these for real in the workplaces.
We also work with teams, offering a mix of face to face facilitation and on line support using psychometric tools and 360 feedback. We enable them to work on and articulate the purpose and how to identify when a team rather than individual approach is required. We assist in the identification of the diversity of expertise, knowledge, skills and attitudes required to achieve the team purpose. We encourage the identification of each individual team members’ expertise, knowledge, skills and attitude. We identify selection and development processes to develop any expertise, knowledge, skills and attitudes required to enhance or fill gaps in the team.
We work with organisations, teams and individuals to assist them in to be more effective in their communications and developing working relationships within their own company and with other organisations. The principles of effective communication and relationship development and how to apply them are identified within programmes and courses, including how to maximise communication when managing remote and rural teams using communications technology (including instant messaging, virtual meetings, conference calls and internet, intranet forums for sharing knowledge). We work with people in managing conflict covering taking pre-emptive action to avoid conflict occurring when possible and working with team members to resolve problems when they emerge. Skills and practice in negotiation and influencing and having difficult conversations are included in this work.
